The Spring Loaded Festival has announced its first event for 2023, bringing a string of much-loved Australian rock acts to the Sandstone Point Hotel on Bribie Island, Queensland, on 3 June.
the leader is spider baitand Eskimo Joe, rat cat, Hihad, French diamond, magic clay, Body and scream feeder Complete the lineup. Frenzal guitarist Lindsay McDougall serves as MCing. Tickets go on sale this Friday (24 February) at 10am AEST.
Spring Loaded’s 2023 Sandstone Point lineup also includes Ratcat, Shihad, Magic Dirt, Bodyjar and Screamfeeder
“What a great lineup, we’re excited to be headlining,” Spiderbait’s Kram said in a statement. “We have so many great memories playing with great bands like Magic Dirt and Screamfeeder.”
Eskimo Joe’s frontman Kav Temperley noted that most of the lineup included performances that “have had a major impact on our band,” adding that “it’s such an honor to be included in this stellar lineup.”
“We’re so excited to be on the Spring Loaded stage again this year,” Magic Dirt’s Adalita said in her own statement. “Back with our pals, back with great fans, get ready to rock! And this time, we’ll be playing with one of our favorite bands that totally influenced us as kids – RATCAT! We can’t wait !”
Last year saw Spring Loaded hit several Australian cities with a lineup including greenspoon, you are me and Reflux. Organizers have pledged the upcoming Sandstone Point event to be the first of many Spring Loaded events to take place this year, with organizer Marc Christowski promising a “non-stop return to the good old days of Homebake and Big Day Out.”
