Florida, [US]March 2 (ANI): Elon Musk’s company SpaceX and NASA launched a new crew of astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) on Thursday after ground-based There was a system problem and it was delayed by a week.

The mission launched at 12:34AM ET today from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

It is expected to spend about a day navigating through space before connecting with the space station. The capsule is expected to dock at 1:17 a.m. ET on Friday.

The mission’s first launch attempt, known as Crew-6, was aborted on Monday because of what authorities claimed was a clogged filter.

NASA’s update on its website earlier Wednesday said, “Following a comprehensive review of data and ground systems, NASA and SpaceX found that the TEA-TEB header tanks that flowed back to the surface had reduced screening due to ground blockage.”

According to NASA, as cited by CNN, the clogged filter explained the anomalous data engineers saw on launch day.

Ben Girid, director of crew mission management at SpaceX, said that while flight controllers lacked sufficient information during the countdown, an evaluation of the data showed that the rocket was likely to launch despite the clogged filter.

At a news conference following Thursday’s release, Reid said, “That’s not how we want to release people. We want people to be reassured that it’s going to be okay.”

The mission marks NASA’s sixth long-duration ISS team aboard SpaceX.

Four years ago, SpaceX launched the uncrewed mission Demo-1 for the first test flight to the International Space Station for NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. (Arnie)
