Al Masaood unveils Volvo Penta solutions at Middle East Energy Show

[ad_1]

Al Masaood Power Division, part of the Al Masaood Group, one of Abu Dhabi’s leading business conglomerates, showcased at the 48th edition of the show innovative energy solutions from its long-term global partner Volvo Penta, especially with OEM-manufactured battery energy storage Subsystem (BESS) Middle East Energy Edition.

The event, which concluded last week, provided energy industry professionals with an important opportunity to network with international energy suppliers, discover new products and solutions that are changing the energy landscape, and form long-term business relationships.

In this edition, Middle East Energy prioritizes five key product areas leading the energy transition as the world moves towards a pluralistic, digital and sustainable future.

These include smart solutions, renewable and clean energy, backup generators and critical power, transmission and distribution, and energy consumption and management.

At the event, Al Masaood Power Division showcased Volvo Penta’s modular and scalable BESS with high energy density and good C-class.

This ensures fast and significant charging and discharging in response to sudden demand. These BESS subsystems optimize energy and power to meet operational and business needs. Volvo Penta’s solution can scale from a single unit to as many units as an OEM’s BESS application requires, up to hundreds of megawatt-hours (MWh).

Hannes Norrgren, Volvo Penta Industrial President, said: “Our BESS subsystem has huge potential for widespread adoption, offering OEMs the opportunity to store energy and increase resilience in renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.”

“This paves the way for new business models that align with our customers’ aspirations to achieve net zero emissions. Being represented by Middle East Energy’s Al Masood Power Division provides us with a valuable opportunity to showcase the development of our power generation business and the strength of our portfolio,” he noted .

Volvo Penta, he said. It also expanded its genset range and introduced its most powerful engine to date, the D17.

The new generating engine offers an excellent power-to-weight ratio in the same footprint as the proven compact D16 – offering customers an excellent alternative to other engines in its class.

He added that the fuel-efficient 17-liter Volvo Penta TWD1744GE industrial genset engine will help support the current needs of industrial customers as well as their future business needs.

At the event, Al Masaood Power Division also showcased the newest addition to Volvo Penta’s line of industrial generator sets, the 200 kVA D8 Stage II engine.

Combined with low noise levels, the 8-litre generating engine enhances the company’s powerful range of industrial genset engines, delivering 8% lower fuel consumption per kWh than the D7 model it replaces.

The D8 offers four power nodes: 200, 253, 303 and 326 kVA with a main power of 1,500 rpm (50 Hz) to meet different application configurations.

Rasso Bartenschlager, General Manager Powertrain, Al Masaood, said: “We are committed to promoting sustainable solutions and delivering the best performance with lower emissions. During the three-day show, we showcased Volvo Penta’s renowned low fuel consumption solutions with low emissions and low noise levels.”

“With this, we are one step closer to our goal of cleaner and more sustainable electricity supply in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Our focus is on service relentless efforts on the part of the commitment,” he added. –trade arab news agency
