CorporateConnections Hosts Fireside Chats for Its Members

CorporateConnections, the UAE business networking community, hosted a fireside chat for its members featuring a renowned guest speaker and thought leader, Suresh Kumar, former CEO of Emirates NBD Group.

During the chat, the industry leader shared his valuable insights on a variety of topics including banking, macroeconomics, UAE taxation and financial regulations. Suresh Kumar, former CEO of Emirates NBD Group, is widely respected in the UAE banking community and is currently Chairman of IBPC Dubai. Commenting on the global banking crisis, Suresh Kumar asserted that UAE banks are in good financial shape and have the support of the ruler. He believes that opportunities are hidden in the various plans announced by the government, and businessmen must study them for guidance. He also sees Saudi Arabia’s modernization as one of the region’s bigger opportunities. His personal views on taxes are in line with those of the UAE government, which sets a minimum burden of 9% and strictly adheres to the rules.
