Shortly after the criminal charges against him were dropped following the death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, Alec Baldwin made a statement to his wife Hilaria Baldwin and Attorney Luke Nikas expressed his thanks.
The 65-year-old 30 Rock actor took an emotional note to Instagram on Thursday and thanked his wife for her support during his challenging legal journey.
Alec praised his wife and shared a photo of him and Hilaria at what appeared to be a restaurant.
“Everything I have is due to this woman,” he wrote alongside a photo of the two embracing. “And you, Luke,” referring to the attorney representing him in the case.
The father-of-seven was seen saying an emotional goodbye to Hilaria before returning to Rust to finish production — hours before the manslaughter charges against him were dropped.
In October 2021, Hutchins, 42, and the injured director Joel Souza were shot and killed on set, and Baldwin was first charged criminally in January.
Baldwin’s attorneys, Nikas and Alex Spiro, said in a statement, “We are pleased with the decision to dismiss Alec Baldwin’s case and we encourage a proper investigation of the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident. “
