Malaysia has recorded 88,534 tourists from the Middle East in 2022 and is touting the latest destinations for shopping, family fun, eco-adventures, honeymoons and luxury holidays at the 29th Arabian Travel Fair.
In 2023, Malaysia aims to welcome 16.1 million international tourists (300,000 from West Asia) and generate RM49.2 billion (AED41.1 billion, US$11.19 billion) in tourism revenue.
Since the full reopening of international borders, Malaysia has received a total of 10.07 million tourists and RM28.2 billion (AED23.5 billion) in tourism receipts in 2022, surpassing its initial target of 9.2 million international tourists.
