Eastern UAE Sees Heavy Rain And Hail While More Unstable Weather Is Expected
Heavy Rain And Hail UAE, parts of eastern experienced an unexpected spell of wet weather on 28 July after heavy rain and hail swept through mountain areas, offering a sharp contrast to the hot conditions across much of the country.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), convective clouds developed over the eastern mountains, bringing heavy rain to Masafi and nearby areas. Hail was also reported in Masafi and Marbad, while some locations experienced strong winds and reduced visibility.
Weather observers shared videos showing flowing wadis, hail-covered ground and rapidly changing skies across the region. Despite the unstable conditions in the east, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and most western parts of the UAE continued to experience typical summer heat.
The NCM said more convective cloud activity is possible over the coming days, meaning additional showers could develop across the eastern mountains and nearby areas. Residents travelling through valleys and mountain roads have been advised to stay alert, especially during periods of heavy rain.
