Match Group said on Monday it would withdraw from Russia by June 30 because “we are committed to protecting human rights”.

The Texas-based company discloses this information in its annual impact report, which summarizes how the company is meeting its environmental, human rights and good governance goals.

“Our brands are taking steps to limit the use of their services in Russia and will complete their withdrawal from the Russian market by June 30, 2023,” it said.

Most major Western companies have closed or suspended operations in protest of Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine as Chinese companies expand their operations.

Seeking to reduce its dependence on the West, Russia has been supporting its domestic technology sector in recent years.
