[ad_1]

A delegation of senior UAE officials and business leaders, led by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, visited the US state of Texas, the UAE’s largest single exporting state, to identify new private sector companies for bilateral investment and cooperation opportunities.

While in Texas, Al Zeyoudi held talks with Austin Mayor Kirk Watson, where he pushed for the UAE’s streamlined business registration process, skilled workforce and world-class infrastructure to attract more from the state inbound investment and trade. Additionally, he participated in an Austin Chamber roundtable where his delegation joined several senior state officials to explore new avenues to boost bilateral trade, especially in the IT, auto parts and machinery verticals.

Dr. Al Zeyoudi also held multiple one-on-one meetings with leading Austin-based startups that are deploying technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and quantum computing to advance real estate, emergency response, logistics, utilities, and media industry.

During the meeting, Al Zeyoudi highlighted the UAE’s unique innovation ecosystem and highlighted the market entry incentives offered by the NextGenFDI program, such as fast-track registration and licensing, batch visa issuance, and ready access to banking facilities and real estate.

The Texas trip concluded with a field trip to Stealth Power, a provider of fleet electrification and off-grid solutions that reduce the carbon footprint of utility, emergency and military fleet vehicles. Commenting on the visit, Al Zeyoudi said that the UAE is prioritizing investment in sectors such as renewable energy and clean technology, as they not only represent high growth potential, but also offer world-changing solutions to the critical issue of climate change.

“The United States is a long-term trade and investment partner of the UAE and an important ally in the development of alternative energy sources,” Al Zeyoudi said. “In November 2022, we signed the Accelerated Clean Energy Partnership, which will mobilize $100 billion to develop 100 gigawatts of clean energy by 2035, and we remain committed to finding new ways to work together to meet our goals. Net Zero Commitment.

He added: “It is very encouraging to see the innovation the US is demonstrating across a wide range of areas, from low-carbon transport and hospitality to smart cities, and we are keen to pursue partnerships that can advance its development,” he added.

Al Zeyoudi was joined by a UAE delegation to Texas comprising Mohamed Al Musharrakh, Chief Executive, Sharjah Foreign Direct Investment Office; Abdulla Al Yousif Al Suwaidi, Executive Director, Ministry of Economic and Energy Affairs; Saud H. Al Nowais, Commercial Attaché (Counselor), UAE Embassy; Karim Gamal, Director and Chief of Staff, Trade Office, UAE Embassy and Mr. Ahmad AlSawalhi, Special Projects and Outreach Director, Trade Office, UAE Embassy.
