Islamabad [Pakistan]May 8 (ANI): Pakistan Home Minister Rana Sanaullah on Sunday rejected Pakistan Justice Instigation (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s call to dissolve the rally, saying the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML) claimed the National Assembly would complete its Constitutional Term-N) has launched its election campaign, Geo News reports.

His statement came as the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government rejected a Supreme Court ruling to hold elections for the Punjab parliament on May 14.

Speaking to reporters in Faisalabad, Rana Sanaullah stated that his party will win the elections. He said, “We will win the elections. Free and transparent elections will be held this year and the National Assembly will complete its constitutional term,” as per the Geo News report.

According to news reports, the ruling PDM government has rejected the Supreme Court ruling on holding polls in Punjab and is holding talks with the Pakistan Justice Movement (PTI) to reach a consensus on simultaneous elections in Pakistan.

Commenting on the ongoing negotiations, Rana Sanaullah said that according to Geo News, the federal government is not yet ready to hold a general election “one day earlier” than the PTI’s stipulated time.

Rana Sanaullah said PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif, who has been living in London since November 2019, will return to Pakistan ahead of the general election.
