It’s not hard to see why the Michigan Manufacturing Show in downtown Clemens Hill has more than doubled in size in recent years.
Now in its 11th year, the Michigan Manufacturing Show is the city’s first outdoor event of the spring. Not only does the festival feature dozens of vendors from across the Great Lakes state, but it also features free live entertainment, unique gifts for Mother’s Day, and a kids’ business expo.
According to Michelle Weiss of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), the two-day festival, held on Friday and Saturday, is one of the most popular events in downtown Clemens Hill one.
“This year’s show was the largest yet, with more than 120 suppliers exhibiting products that were made, grown, assembled or manufactured in Michigan,” Weiss said.
The event has grown by leaps and bounds, especially since the end of the pandemic. In 2019, 60 individuals or small companies signed up for this weekend’s festival and more than 120 are ready.
Display vendors have booths on Macomb Place between North and Pine Streets and on North Walnut Street between New Street and the Emerald Theatre.
This year’s offerings include:

- Happy Homestead Farm – Bath and Body Care Products
- Authentic Creations Jewelry – Semi Precious Stone Jewelry
- Earth Berry Apothecary – Soy Candle, Body Wash, Luxury Soap
- Alex’s Rustic Remains – Birdhouses, Planters and Garden Art
- Pro Woodcraft Plus – custom wood, metal and glass products
- Daily Karmas – Beach Glass Art
- Debbie Laplatte Art – Pottery
- Hampton Roads Gifts – Home Goods
- Braun Designs – Wooden American Flag and Wooden Decorative Sign
Returning to the festival is the Kids’ Business Expo sponsored by Macomb Discovery Center, Comerica Bank and Mount Clemens DDA. This is a one-day market on Saturdays from 10am-4pm for kids aged 10-17, giving them the chance to discover what it’s like to own their own business. Businesses range from baking to bath and grooming, jewellers, stationery, clothing, freshly baked dog biscuits, artists, hair accessories and more.
While education is at the heart of the project, DDA hopes to ignite a spark in young people that owning a business is a great thing to do.
“That’s our next generation of entrepreneurs,” Weiss said.

On Friday the lineup will see Kevin Tarnas at 11am, Tom Bartelmay at 1:30pm, Johnny Rhodes at 4pm and Acoustic Ash at 6pm Saturday’s stage will be Robby Chism at 10am, Olivia Van Goor at 1pm, Eli Bicheit and Trevor Lamb wrap up at 3pm
According to DDA officials, the goal of the Made in Michigan Show is to inform, educate and encourage Michiganders, organizations and consumers alike to support our local economy by purchasing Michigan-made products as well as products from Michigan companies and suppliers.
Festival hours are Friday 11am-8pm and Saturday 10am-6pm.
