exclusive: Paramount’s Republic Pictures acquires North American rights to dystopian drama-thriller where we startedstarring BAFTA and Emmy winner Jodie Comer (kill eve).
The seven-figure median deal marks the largest deal announced so far among projects sold in this year’s Cannes market. Anton and UTA are responsible for Riviera’s worldwide sales.

Earlier this year, Paramount resumed its acquisition of Republic Pictures. The historic brand was founded in 1935 and closed in 1967.Early projects include winter spring summer autumnstarring Jenna Ortega and Percy Hynes White, William Friedkin’s Kane Mutiny Court Martial.
A strong package of plans announced ahead of the listing has fueled hopes of a positive deal at Cannes. Things are slowly coming into focus. So far, domestic deals have been slow, and streaming (and global deals) have largely left the competition open, leaving the door open for options for international independent buyers. We hear that some projects are selling well internationally, and some bigger festival shows are starting to generate heat in North America.
