SEPANG, May 21 – H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, arrived here tonight to begin his long-term mission to Malaysia. Four days of special visits.

The Crown Prince arrived at the Bunga Raya Complex at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 8.42pm and was greeted by Pahang Regent Tunku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Sultan Abdullah Riyaddin Mustafa Bilasha and the Deputy Prime Minister were officially welcomed by Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Zambri Abdul Kader.
Sheikh Khalid was then accompanied by a guard of honor comprising the Malaysian Army’s 1st Royal Rangers Regiment led by Captain Mohammad Shafiq Najimi Mazlan.
His Highness’ visit is his first visit to Malaysia since his appointment as Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council on March 29.
The special visit is expected to strengthen the long-standing good relationship between Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which has been upgraded to a strategic partnership on 27 September 2022.
Sheikh Khalid is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tomorrow (May 22) and exchange views on various issues of mutual interest such as bilateral, regional and international relations during the meeting.
On the third day (May 23), His Highness will meet Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara.
The UAE is Malaysia’s second largest trading partner and export destination, as well as the second largest import destination in West Asia.
In 2022, total trade between Malaysia and the UAE will increase by 73.5% to RM38.73 billion from RM22.33 billion in the previous year. — Bernama
