Yas Island Sea World Abu Dhabi, the region’s first marine life theme park, has officially opened to the public, offering unforgettable experiences and immersive adventures for guests of all ages.
The star-studded opening ceremony took place on 22 May with unforgettable performances from Emirati superstar Hussain Al Jassmi, Scottish recording artist Red and a blockbuster orchestra of 120 musicians. As the opening of a new generation of marine life theme park, the grand opening ceremony captivated the audience with a stunning and immersive sound and light show.
Hundreds of special guests and celebrities attended the coveted event. SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is the newest theme park on Yas Island, brought together by Miral, a leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, and SeaWorld® Parks & Entertainment, a leading educational theme parks and entertainment company and one of the world’s foremost companies Collaborative development of animal tissue.
The event kicked off at the same ocean realm, where guests were privileged to view the same epic ocean-going spectacle at SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. The immersive show features multimedia and state-of-the-art spatial audio, bringing the wonders of the ocean to life on a remarkable 360-degree screen 15 meters high and 218 meters wide. A group of young ocean lovers then took to the stage to activate the mesmerizing sound and light display, which featured a swirling vortex illuminating the same ocean sphere.
A moment that symbolizes the connection between the ocean and all of us, marking the official opening of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, this moment was the highlight of the event. Guests in attendance continued to enjoy performances by the Orchestra and Red, culminating in a SeaWorld Abu Dhabi bespoke set sung by Hussain Al Jassmi. In the stunning finale, a series of silver three-dimensional figures representing marine animals flew across the stage, inviting guests to explore the newly opened park for the first time.
During the event, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, Scott Ross, Chairman of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, and Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral Group, welcomed Dr. Ambassadors and Chargé d’Affaires of Belgium and other countries in the UAE.

Spanning five indoor floors across 183,000 square meters, the park tells a captivating ocean story, taking visitors on a journey of discovery, seamlessly blending learning and fun across eight immersive domains. At SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, guests of all ages can enjoy unique family-friendly experiences, including up-close animal encounters and animal displays. The park also features inspiring entertainment, exciting rides and attractions, and unparalleled dining and shopping experiences.

Each area of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi has a unique theme and intricate design, transporting visitors to different marine environments around the world. The One Ocean Kingdom serves as the centerpiece of the park, sharing the One Ocean story through highly immersive media. The realm is also home to an animal care center and a gateway to the rest of the park, while Abu Dhabi Marine Realm invites guests to discover the unique marine life of the Arabian Gulf. At Rocky Point, guests will see sea lions and harbor seals in a secluded cove inspired by America’s Pacific Northwest.
Tropical Ocean Kingdom features vibrant, sunny rainforests and stunning blue lagoons with dolphins, flamingos, fish and birds. In the MicroOcean realm, kids and families have great fun as they explore the microscopic world like plankton and learn that small can make a big difference. At Endless Ocean Kingdom, visitors will marvel at the world’s largest multi-species marine life aquarium, with more than 68,000 marine animals and a staggering 25 million liters of water. In the Arctic and Antarctic realms of the Polar Ocean, guests will enjoy icy seascapes and learn about the unique habits of polar species.
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi offers 10 up-close animal encounters in 100 animal experiences and presentations, where guests learn about the unique characteristics and behavior of fascinating sea animals, including dolphins, sharks and turtles.
The park also features more than 15 interactive rides and experiences, each taking visitors on a unique journey of discovery in the waves. Thrill seekers can enjoy rides like the Manta Ray roller coaster in the tropical ocean, or jump into the Arctic Kingdom’s Hypersphere 360o in the polar ocean. Plus, there are some family-friendly rides at MicroOcean—the sea life theme park has something for all ages.
Entertainment abounds as guests venture out at SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, with more than 20 live characters and performances daily. Guests can refuel between events on the road and choose from 18 different dining experiences, from on-the-go quick bites to fine dining options. For those who love to shop, Sea World Abu Dhabi has 13 retail outlets where guests can find unique souvenirs, gifts and merchandise to commemorate their visit.
Sea World Abu Dhabi recently announced that it has been certified by Global Humane, an international brand of American Humane and the world’s largest animal welfare certification organization. This is the first facility in the MENA region to receive this certification.
