Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry said in an official press release on Wednesday: “In view of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Discussions between Canadian ministers during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum summit in Bangkok on November 18, 2022, both sides hope to restore the diplomatic relations between the two countries on the basis of mutual respect and common interests; it has been decided that the level of diplomatic relations with Canada back to its previous state.”

Canada said the decision followed discussions between Trudeau and the Saudi crown prince on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum summit in Bangkok last November, Al Arabiya reported.
