The award-winning Broadway musical Hamilton will premiere at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena on January 17 and run for three weeks until February 4.
Hamilton debuted on Broadway in August 2015 to widespread critical acclaim and audience acclaim, and has gone on to run for multiple seasons in London’s West End, Australia and Germany, and will soon embark on an international tour, before arriving in New Zealand and the Philippines premiere to Abu Dhabi.
The soundtrack for “Hamilton” blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway in an adaptation of Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s founding fathers, on stage. With books, music and lyrics written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, directed by Thomas Kail, choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler, music supervised and orchestrated by Alex Lacamoire, “Hamilton” is based on the biography of Ron Chernow.
The musical won 11 Tony Awards, 7 Olivier Awards, a Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a 2016 Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album.
