after flight Etihad Airways A350 Business Class from Chicago to Abu Dhabi, We had a short stop at the Etihad Arrivals lounge before heading to Dubai. I mostly just stop and check because I don’t want to shower or eat anything.
How is the Etihad Arrival Lounge Abu Dhabi? Well, it’s the only “proper” arrivals lounge in the Middle East (Qatar Airways has a premium arrivals facility, but no showers). So it’s better than nothing, but I’m not going to spend more time here than you need. The primary purpose of the Etihad Arrivals Lounge is to provide eligible passengers with an airline chauffeur service at their point of departure.
Etihad arrives at lounge Abu Dhabi location
As standard, the Etihad Arrivals Lounge is located landside for passengers arriving in Terminal 1 or 3. When you land at Abu Dhabi Airport, just follow the signs for Passport Control and Arrivals. You’ll first pass through passport control (fast track for premium passengers), then through baggage claim and customs.
Once landside, you should continue to see Etihad Arrivals lounge signage. When we arrived at Terminal 3, the lounge was just outside the immigration exit and the lounge entrance was on the right side of the steep moving walkway.
At reception, all you need to do is provide your eligible boarding pass and you’ll be admitted.
Etihad Arrivals Lounge Abu Dhabi opening hours
Etihad Arrival Lounge Abu Dhabi is open 24/7 and never closes. This reflects the round-the-clock flow of flights in and out of the Middle East. If anything, noon is the quietest time at the airport.
Etihad Arrival Lounge Abu Dhabi Entry Requirements
The Etihad Arrivals Lounge Abu Dhabi is open to passengers traveling in Etihad First and Business Class and Etihad Platinum members. Therefore, please ensure that you have your incoming boarding pass for smooth access to the lounge.
Etihad Arrival Lounge Abu Dhabi seating and layout
The Etihad Arrival Lounge Abu Dhabi is not very big. When you enter from the terminal, you pass through a lobby that leads to the main part of the lounge.
The main section of the lounge seats 18 people in five different seating “clusters”. There is a TV in the room with international news, the lounge basically faces the road outside the airport, but the windows are frosted so you can’t see outside.
There is also a small business center area with computers in the lounge.
Etihad Arrival Lounge Abu Dhabi Food and Drink
Etihad Arrivals Lounge Abu Dhabi offers a very limited food selection, significantly scaled down compared to the past.
This includes dates, biscuits, sweets, Arabica coffee, tea, espresso machines, canned and bottled juices, soda and water.
So don’t come here hungry, although some may appreciate being able to drink water or coffee.
Etihad Arrival Lounge Abu Dhabi Bathrooms and Showers
The Etihad Arrivals Lounge Abu Dhabi has two sets of washrooms for guests, each with a toilet and sink.
There are also several shower rooms in the lounge, each with a walk-in shower, toilet and sink. The shower, while not luxurious, was functional.
In the past, the Etihad Arrivals Lounge had a salon where you could get a free shave or beard trim. Unfortunately, it is no longer available and the space is empty at this time.
Etihad Arrival Lounge Abu Dhabi Chauffeur Service
One of the main reasons for using the Etihad arrival lounge is because this is where the Etihad chauffeur service departs. Part of the lounge opens directly onto the road and then there are staff who can direct you to the appropriate car.
Etihad Airways Provide chauffeur service Applies to First and Business Class passengers in Abu Dhabi, but only if they pay cash for their ticket. Since we had already redeemed our miles, we were not eligible for this award.

Etihad Arrival Lounge Abu Dhabi is basic. Not worth visiting specifically but worth a stop if you want a place to relax on arrival, have some water or coffee, want to take a shower, or if you use the Etihad chauffeur service.
The space has definitely undergone some cost cutting compared to back in the day, when there was a wider selection of food, and a salon offering free treatments.
