Bridgestone MEA Appoints Cevikel as Head of Marketing

Bridgestone Middle East and Africa (MEA), one of the world leaders in tires and sustainable mobility solutions, has appointed Gurhan Cevikel as its new Head of Marketing to lead the organization’s marketing strategy in the region.

Cevikel will assume the role of Head of Marketing, Middle East and Africa effective 1 May 2023. In his new role, he will report directly to Jacques Fourie, Regional Vice President and Managing Director, MEA, and with Dotted Line to Thierry Jupsin, Vice President, Brand Marketing, Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMIA).

As Head of MEA Marketing, Cevikel is responsible for defining, coordinating and executing marketing strategies for the MEA region in accordance with BSEMIA marketing guidelines and MEA strategic priorities. He oversees all marketing activities – including brand platform activation, trade marketing, communications, digital marketing, pricing and strategic planning.

Cevikel has over 18 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development, consulting, deal making, channel management, B2B/B2C, strategic planning, digital transformation and team management. He has worked in various markets across the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Asia, providing insight into the region’s diverse business landscape. Cevikel’s previous roles include Global Marketing Director for Shell Retail Lubricants, where he led go-to-market strategy, pricing and portfolio selection, and communications planning across multiple markets. He later became Director of Market Intelligence and Consulting at GfK Middle East & Africa LLC in Dubai, UAE.

Cevikel holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Bogazici University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Yeditepe University. His education, combined with his extensive experience, positions him well to lead Bridgestone MEA’s marketing efforts in the region. — trade arab news agency
