Abu Dhabi Criminal Court convicts woman for violating book fair attendees’ privacy

The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court has sentenced an Arab woman accused of inciting public opinion on social media, invading privacy and verbally abusing a participant at the country’s recent book fair by broadcasting a live video on social media networks attack.

The court decided to sentence the offender to six months’ imprisonment and a fine of Dh50,000 for violating the victim’s privacy, delete all photos and audio recordings, confiscate the equipment used, permanently close his Twitter account, and impose a fine.
