Abu Dhabi Airports has signed a memorandum of understanding with French engineering and operations company Groupe ADP to explore the potential of Abu Dhabi Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), a new type of air transport using electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL). Under the terms of the agreement, Abu Dhabi Airports and Groupe ADP will jointly plan, design, develop and operate the emirate’s AAM ground infrastructure to develop the industry roadmap, following stakeholder engagement, feasibility studies and market assessments.
The partnership was signed at Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2022. Abu Dhabi Airports Managing Director and CEO Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri and Groupe ADP Managing Director Airport Services Philippe Martinet.
