Abu Dhabi is known as the cultural heart of the UAE, and we couldn’t agree more. From arts festivals to cultural shows, Abu Dhabi is always ready to host such events. This time, it is operating as a venue for Abu Dhabi Art. The event will take place in November under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Read on for more details on this art event.
15th edition of Art Abu Dhabi to be held in UAE capital in November
Mark your calendars for November 22-26 and free up your schedule for an art hour in Abu Dhabi. Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi will be filled with art and artists for selected weeks in November. Abu Dhabi Art Centre, an important platform rooted in the art scene in the WANASA region, welcomes galleries from all over the world for its 15th edition. Via the Art Abu Dhabi website, both new and established galleries have submitted ideas for the next edition in 2023.
The Modern and Contemporary category is one of the categories that exhibitors apply for. Modern and contemporary galleries with at least seven years of operating history qualify for the following categories. Next comes the Special Projects section, where galleries with at least three years of operation can host solo or two-artist exhibitions. The Emerge district followed with galleries showing art under $3,000. Located alongside them, focus areas feature participating galleries with specific artists selected by guest curators. With 80 galleries from 28 countries exhibiting more than 900 works by 300 artists from around the world, the 2022 fair boasts the largest and most diverse gallery line-up to date.

Event Artists, Artwork & More
Emirati artist Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim has been named Visual Event Artist of the Year 2023 by Abu Dhabi Art. Similar to previous years, a selection of his works will be on display, launching a global campaign for the fair. This will familiarize a wide global audience with his artwork. His artwork will also establish a unified visual identity for the November exhibition. Inscriptions, lines and abstract shapes that resemble prehistoric cave paintings are Ibrahim’s signature style. He uses them to mark time and memory through meditative repetition.
Ibrahim is currently one of the best painters in the UAE. His selection as this year’s fair’s Visual Event Artist is a continuation of a long-standing collaboration with the event.
So if you’re looking for a creative day in Abu Dhabi, be sure to reserve time for an upcoming art event.
