Abu Dhabi Ministry of Energy: Establish a strategic partnership with “Youth 4 Sustainable Development” to instill a culture of energy efficiency and conservation

The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) asserted that empowering young people to plan for a sustainable future is now necessary, and pointed out that the Ministry has been in a leading position for many years in striving to achieve this strategic goal.

The U.S. Department of Energy is participating in “Youth 4 Sustainable Development (Y4S)”-an initiative initiated by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Corporation (Masdar)-using the platform to invest in youth, improve their skills, and develop their culture. Since 2019, the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy has been participating in the Y4S platform and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) as the main partner. The partnership reflects the Ministry of Energy’s cooperation with various entities to raise awareness of energy efficiency and environmentally conscious behavior, and promote Abu Dhabi’s efforts to invest in clean and renewable energy, positioning the Emirate as the world’s sustainable development capital promise.

Support and motivation

The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy has long been committed to promoting sustainable environmental practices and energy efficiency in communities. Technical model

Ahmed Al-Jabri and Zaid Al-Obaidly from the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Energy launched a challenge where young participants must create a technical model that can classify the leaves of plants and detect any diseases they may have. The foundation of artificial intelligence and the ability to solve problems were also discussed. The DoE team used the Python programming language to develop a unique model to analyze the results and accuracy, and provide suggestions for improving the model.

Graduate

A total of 122 young men and women graduated from the “Sustainable Youth” program, where they were mentored and mentored and developed the social skills needed to start entrepreneurship, innovation and collaboration to overcome obstacles.
