As part of the 19th edition’s theme ‘Building the Emirati Spirit: Creativity, Innovation and Joy’, Abu Dhabi Festival hosted the world premiere virtual concert on 30 December, which commissioned and produced the epic A trio of symphonies: Peace, Love, Tolerance by visionary Emirati composer Ihab Darwish.

Streamed live on the Abu Dhabi Festival’s YouTube channel, the spectacular performance garnered widespread participation and critical acclaim from local and international audiences.

In less than a week, the nearly two-hour concert garnered a record million views, with positive feedback from social media users around the world who listened to and reflected on the magnificent symphony Its ability to unite people of different backgrounds through music.

Inspired by the Abraham family home in Abu Dhabi, Emirati composer Ihab Darwish has teamed up with Emmy Award-winning composer John Debney and Grammy Award-winning composer David Shire on four powerful The symphony in the movement, accompanied by renowned musicians and vocal ensembles from the UAE from around the world, including the Beethoven Academy Orchestra led by maestro Diego Navarro, celebrates the values ​​of peace, love and tolerance.

About 350 musicians from various cultural backgrounds participated in the symphony. In addition to the Oriental Drum Ensemble, the program also includes a choir of around 250 singers from all over the world, including soloists Lebo M (South Africa), Sumi Jo (Korea), Lisbeth Scott (USA), Sheikh Mahmoud Tohamy (Egypt) , as well as Olivia Vote, Richard Bernstein and Brenton Ryan from the Metropolitan Opera in New York, as well as world-renowned soloists Tina Guo and Pedro Eustach, among others.
