Abu Dhabi Worker Bus Rule: New Route Restriction Starts August 17
A new Abu Dhabi worker bus rule will affect 50-seat worker transport buses from Monday, August 17, 2026.
Abu Dhabi Mobility has announced that these buses will no longer be allowed to use exit E328B at Mafraq Bridge when travelling towards the E22 Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road. The change is aimed at improving traffic flow and road safety in the area.
Under the new arrangement, affected buses heading towards Mafraq Workers City must use an alternative exit at Truck Bridge. They will then continue towards Al Rawdah Street, E30, before reaching the workers’ city.
The authority has asked bus operators and drivers to follow the new route once the restriction takes effect. The change is particularly important for companies transporting large numbers of workers between accommodation areas and workplaces.
The restriction does not apply to all vehicles using the Mafraq Bridge. It specifically targets 50-seat worker transport buses, making it important for operators to understand the change before Monday.
Abu Dhabi Mobility regularly introduces traffic measures to improve road safety and reduce congestion across the emirate. The authority also provides public transport connections to Al Mafraq Workers City.
Companies using affected buses should inform their drivers and update their travel plans before the new rule begins.
For workers and transport operators, knowing the alternative route in advance could help prevent confusion and delays when the Abu Dhabi worker bus rule comes into effect.
