On the occasion of UAE National Day, Etihad Airways has partnered with creative Emirates to highlight the UAE’s heritage, culture and hopeful vision for the future. The project emphasizes the principles and values of the late UAE founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which have underpinned the alliance since its inception on December 2, 1971.

Emirates Airline has launched a digital brochure created by three Emiratis, author Nadia Alnajjar; Noura Khoury, co-author and translator; and illustrator Alya Alhammadi.

The booklet depicts the beauty of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates, told by travelers who have landed in the country on an Etihad Airways flight. The brochure draws from the beautiful beaches of Abu Dhabi, the Museum of Future Architecture in Dubai and “Dar Alhikmah” in Sharjah. The booklet continues through the northern UAE, depicting Ajman’s traditional sailboats, the Falaj Al Mualla fort in Umm Al Quwain and riding the world’s longest zipline at Jebel Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah. The UAE trip ends with an encounter with rare fish at Wadi Al Wuray’ah in Fujairah.

This electronic brochure is available on Etihad Airways’ in-flight entertainment system, E-BOX. A limited edition hard copy booklet produced by the National Library and Archives will also be distributed to guests on board. Additionally, Emirati filmmaker Aiysha Alzaabi has produced a video inspired by the booklet, which will be featured on Etihad Airways’ social media channels.

During the UAE National Day celebrations, Etihad Airways will offer guests a special Emirati-inspired menu created by Emirati Chef Khalid.

The airline has decorated aircraft seats at Abu Dhabi International Airport and its business and first class lounges with celebratory branding.
