[ad_1]

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has signed contracts worth more than AED1 billion (US$272.25 million) with four Abu Dhabi companies to provide catering services for all Adboc group companies from 2022 to 2027.

More than 50 per cent of the value of the four contracts was channeled back into the UAE economy as part of Adnoc’s Domestic Value (ICV) programme, reinforcing Adnoc’s commitment to supporting local businesses and the growth and diversity of the UAE’s food sector by encouraging Four companies further source local food.

The contracts were signed with Royal Catering, Apex National Catering, National Corporation for Tourism & Hotels (NCT&H) and Sodexo Kelvin during the inaugural Abu Dhabi International Food Show.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Group CEO of Adnoc; Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and Saeed Al Jaber, Director General of Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) Bahri Al Ameri.

Dr Al Jaber said: “Across our onshore and offshore operations, Adnoc and its contractors have high requirements for high-quality catering services to meet the needs of our large and diverse workforce. We are delighted to partner with Four leading local companies sign new agreements, reinforcing our commitment to use domestic suppliers and contractors and ensuring the growth, development and diversification of local industry.

“By partnering with local companies and encouraging the use of more UAE-made products, we will also support the growth of the UAE’s food industry, which is a key enabler of our national food safety strategy.”

Adnoc employs more than 100 different nationalities in its operations, including 14 companies operating across the energy value chain. It serves more than 45 million meals annually to meet the dietary needs of its employees and contractors, many of whom work in remote offshore and onshore locations.
