Arjun Madhusudhanan :One of the core founding principles of AMSRI is to be a positive contributor to our client’s growth story.

We had this wonderful opportunity of speaking with Arjun Madhusudhanan, Managing Director of AMSRI Consulting LLC. AMSRI Consulting LLC is a well-rounded, sector-neutral boutique consulting firm that provides a wide array of corporate services, accounting, compliances, and various consultancy services.

The core of its existence and growth is its strong belief that it can grow only if its clients grow. This belief is translated through its experienced professionals who have an aptitude for providing well-researched advice that is pragmatic and relevant to the client’s business.

Let’s take a closer look at AMSRI from Arjun himself.

1. Describe your background and the company’s history in detail.

I qualified as a Chartered Accountant from ICAI in 2003. I did a CA apprenticeship from a reputed Hyderabad-based audit firm and then joined a large pan-India audit/ consulting firm. I headed the practice of the firm in Hyderabad and then set up the practice in Chennai. I moved on and joined an office furnishing company in Dubai in January 2008 as its financial controller.. 6 months into the assignment, I figured that audit/ consulting was my calling. I collaborated with the firm I worked for in India and we set up a UAE practice in January 2009. Over the ensuing decade, I managed the affairs, and the firm grew into a full-fledged audit and consulting outfit with an enviable clientele in the UAE and GCC.

On 02 July 2018, I started my firm AMSRI Consulting. AM stands for my Initial while SRI is my wife, Sridevi’s initial.

We currently are a consulting group of around 20 professionals providing services in the field of Corporate Services, Accounting, and Consulting.

2. What do you want to achieve in the workplace and what does your company expect from its employees?

We have a family of professionals strongly knit in a common belief that the only way to grow fast and sustainably is to be together as a TEAM.

We are very selective while inducting a new team member; with trust, humility, and team working ability being key qualities that rank highly in the selection process apart from domain expertise.

We expect each team member to enjoy his association with the firm while growing- both professionally and personally.

3. What is your greatest company and team asset?

We are in the business of serving our clients and the biggest asset in this is our TEAM.

4. What steps have you taken to get where you are in your career?

Persevere and try to provide pragmatic solutions to the client’s needs.

5. What is your motivation for starting this company?

Being a trusted partner to our client and the thrill/ professional satisfaction that is derived when a client considers us as a part of his growth story.

6. What are some of the obstacles you’ve faced in achieving your goals?

Obstacles are a part of life, both professional and personal. At AMSRI, we look at each obstacle/mistake as a way to improve ourselves and acquire new experiences/ expertise!!

The client’s requirements and expectations keep evolving and continuously increasing. This is the biggest challenge we face every day.

This is a double edge sword, while on one side we get a professional high as the client trusts our ability to find a solution to their problem; on the other side, the biggest challenge is to live up to it each and every time!!

7. How best would you describe yourself in just one word?

Pragmatic

8. What gives you a sense of purpose and direction on Mondays?

Trying to live up to my client’s expectations is the biggest driving force not only on a Monday morning but each and every day of the week.

My previous boss; a legend in his own right, had embedded a key understanding in me that in a service industry like ours where a client has multiple substitution options; being there with him in his time of need, to the extent practically possible, is the only way to ensure continued and long-lasting patronage.

We have tried to inculcate this as a core working principle at AMSRi.

9. What was the most innovative or creative project that you worked on?

One of the core founding principles of AMSRI is to be a positive contributor to our client’s growth story.

Thankfully we have been able to achieve quite a few of them in the past 4 years of our existence. Being sensitive in nature, it wouldn’t be prudent to discuss them in the forum.

10. What makes your company’s services/solutions or products unique? What is coming soon in terms of new offerings and innovations?

We are a firm that has grown organically with a strong belief that a happy client is our biggest brand ambassador/ marketing force. Almost all the 350+ clients we currently serve have been acquired through a referral from an existing happy client!! This, in our view, is a testimonial to our service delivery.

We always strive to Improve the client experience and as such our service offerings get updated on a continuous basis to match this.
