Brendan Fraser believes more support should be given to people battling mental health issues.

The 53-year-old actor, who plays an extremely obese man in his new film “The Whale,” tries to reconnect with his daughter, and Brendan believes more support is needed for those dealing with mental health issues.

Speaking to Sky News, Brendan added: “I think we can also do a good job of changing the language patterns we use when referring to people with obesity. I think that would help.”

Brendan dons heavy prosthetics and makeup for his latest role. But the Hollywood star insists that wasn’t the biggest challenge in making the film.

Brendan, who starred in the film alongside Sadie Sink, Hong Zhou, Samantha Morton and Ty Simpkins, said: “The biggest challenge wasn’t the makeup and dressing, it was working with a great cast of actors Let’s perform together., for Darren [Aronofsky, the director], and tells a story of tolerance, all filmed in the age of COVID, so we all know what it’s like to live in these conditions. But at the end of the day, this is a movie about love. “

Meanwhile, Brendan recently revealed that he had a “sense of presence” while filming The Whale.

The actor enjoyed working with the famous director, and his memory of the shooting is still vivid.

He shared: “We could have done it as an off-Broadway show, which made sense because it was based on a Sam Hunter play.

“So we knew our characters, we knew how to play music before we got to the set, and in an apartment environment as cramped as it was — a two-bedroom apartment somewhere in Idaho where Charlie lived — it was kind of like a submarine crew. there.

“But we’re very cohesive, don’t forget we’re filming during COVID, with protocols and restrictions, and we’re all like, ‘Will there be tomorrow?’ In essence.”
