British Airways and pilots’ union agree preliminarily

British Airways (BA) has reached a tentative labor agreement with its unionized pilots, eliminating the threat of strikes through 2027 as the UK carrier continues its recovery from the Covid-19 travel slowdown.

The agreement builds on previous changes to pay and working conditions, and members of the British Airline Pilots’ Association will vote on the package in the coming weeks.

Pilots are set to receive a 4% pay increase retroactive to June, with an additional 6% increase between December 2023 and December 2024.

This positive development comes after BA faced criticism for its treatment of staff during the pandemic, with the company now focused on rebuilding trust with employees and customers.
