February 19 (United Press International) — Police have discovered a body while searching for a British mother who went missing in the northern English village of St Michael’s last month.
Lancashire Police said Nicola Bulley, 45, went missing on January 27 while walking her dog after dropping her children off at school.

Lancashire Police said: “We were called at 11.36am this morning to reports of a body in the River Wyle, near Rawcliffe Road.” in a statement.
“An underwater search team and specialist officers then rushed to the scene, entered the water and regrettably recovered a body.”
Lancashire Police said there had been no formal identification, so authorities could not yet confirm whether the body belonged to Bulley.
“We are currently treating the death as unexplained,” police said. “Nicola’s family has been informed of the developments and our thoughts are with them at this most difficult time.”

Bulley’s disappearance sparked intense public interest, leading authorities to issue evacuation notices to disperse concerned detectives who flocked to the area.
“While we know Nikki would not have wanted this, there is still speculation and threats to sell stories about her. This is appalling and needs to stop,” the family statement read.
“The police know the truth about Nicky and now the public needs to focus on finding her.”
The family revealed in a statement that Bulley suffered “serious side effects” of perimenopause, including “brain fog” and “disturbed sleep”, and was taking hormone replacement therapy medication to help with her symptoms.
“This gave her severe headaches, which caused Nikki to stop taking HRT, which may have helped her, but ultimately led to this crisis,” the statement read.
“The public focus has to be on finding her, not making up crazy theories about her personal life.”
