What’s the idea behind your company?

After a decade of living in this region, we felt that there was a noticeable gap in the market for a quality design and build fit-out company. We noticed a lack of services that provided a one-stop solution to clients seeking to renovate or design their homes or businesses. Driven by our vision to fill this gap and provide exceptional customer service, we decided to establish DPMS. Our company specializes in providing end-to-end fit-out services, delivering customized, top-quality solutions that meet the  unique needs and expectations of our clients.

How did you begin your career journey? Do you have some advice for beginners?

We began our journey by providing Project Support Services for the Engineering and Construction industry before expanding into Construction Fit-out Management and Engineering. We advise starting small and working your way up, choosing projects that align with your company’s capabilities, and completing them to a high standard. Never compromise on quality.

What’s the goal of your company?

At DPMS, our goal is to become a top-tier commercial and residential fit-out company in Dubai. We firmly believe that transparency with our contractors and clients and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality assurance and quality control on every project will elevate our reputation within the fit-out community. Our aim is to be recognized as one of the best-in-class fit-out companies in this region.

How important are employees’ energy levels to the success of your company?

We recognize that high levels of employee energy and enthusiasm are key drivers of productivity and quality in project delivery. When our team members are passionate about their work, we have found that they are more likely to go above and beyond to meet and exceed our client’s expectations.

However, as the management team at DPMS, we are responsible for creating a work environment that supports employee well-being. We provide opportunities for our staff to improve and grow within their roles, such as offering courses, improved training, and promoting a healthy work-life balance. These factors all contribute to higher levels of employee engagement and energy, which ultimately lead to better business outcomes.

How do you plan to motivate your team to go the extra mile?

We demonstrate our commitment to each project or task by always being willing to put in extra effort, whether working late or on weekends. By doing so, we aim to inspire and encourage our team members to go above and beyond and achieve exceptional results.

Furthermore, we offer growth opportunities for employees who display a positive attitude and dedication to their work. This includes providing training programs, mentorship opportunities, and chances to work on larger, more complex projects to help them develop professionally.

What keeps your company moving forward even during challenges?

We believe that effective communication is essential to success. Clear and transparent communication with our staff, contractors, and clients is particularly important during challenging times. When everyone is on the same page and understands the company’s goals and priorities, it becomes easier to work together to overcome obstacles and find solutions.

We recognize the importance of staying flexible and open-minded, ready to adjust strategies and tactics as needed to meet new challenges and seize new opportunities. For example, towards the end of the COVID pandemic, commercial projects were slow to pick up due to the work-from-home culture. As a result, we shifted our focus towards residential renovations, adapting our strategies and direction accordingly.

How do you think technology is leading to changes in businesses? Do you feel it’s helping your company grow?

Technology has played a critical role in the success of our company at DPMS, particularly through the use of project management software. Although we did not initially have such software, we tested multiple programs and found that the one that best fulfilled our needs was Proteus. This software manages project time schedules, budgets, invoicing, payment systems, and manpower and has significantly improved our operations and streamlined our processes.

Additionally, we use data analytics tools to track our performance and identify areas for improvement. By doing so, we are able to make more informed decisions and optimize our operations to achieve better outcomes.

How is your company adapting to digitalization?

As mentioned above, the use of a project management software tool has given us transparency across all areas of the company and has enabled us to digitally transform the way we do business. This, in turn, gives us the right tools we need to positively impact our bottom line.

Do you use innovative ideas to be unique?

In today’s competitive business environment, companies need to be innovative and constantly looking for new ways to improve their products, services, and processes. At DPMS, we place a strong emphasis on innovation and are always exploring new ideas to differentiate ourselves from our competitors. Examples include encouraging our employees to think creatively and develop new and innovative solutions to solve everyday challenges, such as re-writing specific code for one of the CAD programs we were using, which enabled us to scale our residential design concepts.

We also invest in employee training to stay ahead of industry trends and ensure that we are always at the forefront of innovation. Our commitment to innovation has helped us to create unique value propositions for our customers and establish ourselves as a leader in our industry. We believe that by fostering a culture of innovation and constantly challenging ourselves to be better, we can continue to meet the needs of our clients and drive success for our business.

What are the services/solutions or products offered by your company as par with the current industry standards? Tell us something about your upcoming products or services.

As a company, we have extremely high standards and expect all our staff and contractors to uphold them. The management team regularly visit all ongoing projects to ensure that every aspect of the job is carried out to the highest possible standard.

We have exciting new projects starting all the time, but one that stands out for us is a complete renovation project in Jumeirah Golf Estates. Once the villa is completed this month, it will be put on the market, which is an exciting time for our company.
