Abu Dhabi: The total capital of UAE Public Joint Stock Companies (PJSCs) will reach AED702 billion by the end of 2022, a new report said on Wednesday.
According to the 2022 annual report of the Securities and Commodities Authority, the share of government companies is 393 billion dirhams, and the share of non-government companies is 309 billion dirhams.
The service sector accounts for the largest share of the total registered PJSC capital at AED 209.8 billion. This is followed by the investment and financial services sector (AED 165.9 billion), energy (AED 129.5 billion), banking (AED 77.7 billion), real estate (AED 33.4 billion) and transport (AED 32.4 billion) .
The industrial sector accounts for a smaller share of the total capital of registered PJSCs at AED 24.5 billion. The shares of communications, insurance and consumer goods were AED 15.6 billion, AED 7.9 billion and AED 4.9 billion respectively.
Abu Dhabi holds the largest share of the total registered PJSC capital at AED 521 billion. Dubai followed with AED 89 billion.
Of the total capital registered in PJSC, non-listed companies amounted to AED 380.6 billion and listed companies accounted for AED 321.3 billion. Of the listed companies, AED227.03 billion was listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and AED94.2 billion was listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM).
