COP28 chief & Bangladesh PM prioritize vulnerable in climate action

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and COP28 President-Designate, met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh to focus on delivering for COP28.

They jointly committed to protect the world’s most vulnerable communities and discussed core action agendas for a just energy transition, climate finance, and people-centric climate action. Bangladesh’s leadership in food systems transformation was praised, and COP28’s focus on lives and livelihoods was highlighted.

Dr. Al Jaber called on Bangladesh to share its climate solutions with other vulnerable countries. COP28 UAE is scheduled for November 30 to December 12, 2023, and will include the first-ever Global Stocktaking.
