India has been working with foreign governments to help Indians who need to return to different countries
India said on Thursday that it hopes more countries will take measures to normalize the overseas movement of Indians.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India, Alindane Bach, said at a media briefing: “As the Covid-19 situation in India improves, we have been discussing with foreign countries to ease travel restrictions on Indians.”
“We think this is an important factor in the economic recovery. Some positive steps have been taken in this direction,” Bach added. After the second wave of coronavirus spread in India a few months ago, many countries, including some Gulf Cooperation Council countries, imposed restrictions on the entry of Indians and suspended flights to and from India.
According to the spokesperson, two weeks ago, Indian Foreign Minister V Muraleedharan held a meeting with the Indian ambassador to the Gulf region to discuss measures to resume passenger flights from its accredited country to India.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Dr. S Jaishankar and Minister of Foreign Affairs Harsh Vardhan Shringla have been working with foreign governments to help Indians who need to return to the world.
