Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has partnered with Moro Hub (Data Center Integrated Solutions) to open the Cyber Security Innovation Lab, Waee Cyber Security Center and Identity Intelligence Hub.
This is part of its efforts to build a safe, secure and reliable digital environment and support innovation in cyberspace. This enhances comprehensive protection against cybersecurity risks for all stakeholders and ensures safe access to Dewa’s cyberspace, especially as Dewa accelerates digital transformation and widespread adoption of smart technologies.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dewa, emphasized that this step is in line with the organization’s efforts to achieve the vision of wise leadership to be fully prepared for all the challenges that technology presents and the opportunities it offers , and contribute to the growth and economic prosperity of Dubai, and continue Dewa’s journey of excellence and global leadership.
“Dewa takes a comprehensive approach to cyber security. This includes a complete range of proactive, preventive and predictive defense mechanisms to ensure business continuity and rapid recovery from incidents and keep data safe,” said Al Tayer.

The Cyber Security Innovation Lab aims to enable and simplify Dewa’s digital transformation through research, exploration, innovation, design and testing of cyber security controls and deployment in its environment. The lab is designed to save time and costs, and increase Dewa’s return on investment in information and cybersecurity.
The Waee Cyber Security Center provides a virtual environment to run comprehensive technical training and exercises, using scenarios and tools to simulate cyber security attacks and defense mechanisms to enhance staff skills and raise awareness through virtual experiences designed to improve national cyber security skills.
The Identity Intelligence Hub, the first of its kind in Dewa, features adaptive intelligence that collects identity-related data from a variety of sources to proactively secure Dewa identities and enable advanced identity and access management controls to leverage the user experience And ensure safe access to Deva’s environment.
Since 2008, Dewa has made significant progress in the systematic and practical development of its enterprise risk management strategy and formed a high-level crisis management committee.
Dewa established the first Cyber Defense Center in Dubai Government to protect data by monitoring services and technical assets 24/7, handling incidents with care and limiting the impact of potential threats, anticipating threats in advance and executing any necessary preventive procedures. Dewa also adopts the Information Security Regulations (ISR) of the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC).
Dewa has obtained ISO 27001:2013, the highest international standard in the field of information security management. Dewa has extended standards implementation to all of its divisions, divisions and operations. – trade arab news agency
