Dubai Chamber discusses state of e-commerce market


The Dubai Digital Economy Chamber is hosting the sixth in a series of digital industry workshops aimed at gaining clarity and a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing e-commerce companies.

Dubai’s e-commerce industry leaders were in attendance to discuss topics around regulations, funding, talent and infrastructure.

“The Dubai Digital Economy Chamber is committed to supporting the growth of Dubai’s digital economy and strengthening Dubai’s position as a global destination for digital companies. We will therefore continue to support our members through various initiatives including Involve all stakeholders in developing the roadmap and finding solutions to the challenges facing digital industry leaders,” said Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO. The e-commerce landscape in the UAE has flourished in recent years through major investments, acquisitions, and partnerships with global companies. According to ecommercedb.com, it is the 27th largest e-commerce market and is expected to reach $17.2 billion in revenue by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 8.4% from 2023 to 2027.

Growth momentum in the UAE e-commerce sector is expected to continue, supported by increased demand for online shopping, improvements and modernization of payment systems and services, and a steady flow of infrastructure investments.

The Chamber is committed to engaging all relevant parties in developing a roadmap and finding solutions to the challenges discussed, and aims to meet again with representatives of these sectors to continue the dialogue and track the progress made in discussions, ideas and initiatives.
