ABU DHABI – The Strategic Development Fund (SDF), the investment arm of the Tawazun Council, has announced that it will be showcasing Helio Aviation Technologies (HelioTech), one of the newest additions to its venture portfolio, at the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) 2023).
UAE-based company HelioTech will focus on the design and manufacture of its proprietary and unique VTOL aircraft for commercial and security applications. HelioTech’s initial efforts will focus on the development and production of manned and unmanned single-engine helicopters based on cutting-edge coaxial technology.
HelioTech has begun designing and developing a range of products in the VTOL aircraft segment and the company will be showcasing a selection of its products for the non-civilian market at the SDF stand in the Tawazun Committee Pavilion at the show.
Tareq Abdulraheem Al Hosani, Secretary General of the Tawazun Council, hailed the launch of the new entity, saying: “The launch of HelioTech is an important step in advancing the aviation, defense and security industries in the UAE and will contribute to the growth of Abu and the diversification of Dhabi’s economy .
“HelioTech is in line with SDF’s mission to invest in financial and strategic return on investment through partnerships that contribute to the UAE’s private sector and Abu Dhabi’s technological capabilities,” he added.
Abdulla Naser Al Jaabari, Managing Director and CEO of SDF and Chairman of HelioTech, said: “Aviation and urban mobility technologies are part of SDF’s focus on its key strategic areas.
