UAE Flight Delays and Cancellations: 46 Services Hit Across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah
Around 46 flights were delayed or cancelled across UAE airports on Sunday, September 27, as airlines faced continued disruption on several international routes. Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah airports were among those affected.
Several delays involved flights between the UAE and Central Asian and Eastern European destinations. Some services from South Asia were also affected, including flights connecting Dubai and Abu Dhabi with India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Among the reported cancellations were flydubai flight FZ 1502 from Catania, Emirates flight EK 413 from Christchurch, an Air India Express service from Kochi and SpiceJet flight SG 5060 from Mumbai.
Delays varied considerably between flights. Some services were delayed by less than an hour, while others faced significantly longer disruptions. Etihad flight EY 858 from Sochi experienced an 18-hour delay following an airport closure in the Russian city.
Despite the disruptions, UAE airlines continue to operate a large number of scheduled services. The latest situation does not mean that all flights are affected, and individual schedules can change during the day.
Passengers travelling from Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah should check their flight status directly with the airline before leaving for the airport. Travellers should also allow additional time for check-in, security and possible schedule changes.
Airlines and airports have advised passengers to continue monitoring official updates, as flight schedules can change at short notice.
