Emirates News Agency – Abu Dhabi Joint Traffic Safety Committee stresses importance of paying attention to the road while driving

ABU DHABI, 28th November, 2022 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Joint Committee on Traffic Safety, chaired by the Ministry of Municipalities and Transport, including the Abu Dhabi Police General Command, the Department of Health and the Integrated Transport Center has announced the launch of several activities, Designed to enhance road safety in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Awareness-raising campaigns emphasize the need to pay attention to the road while driving and avoid distractions that can lead to accidents. Thus, maintaining the safety of drivers and other road users.

Behaviors that lead to distraction and loss of vehicle control typically include: using a cell phone or social media platforms while driving, being distracted by other passengers in the vehicle, eating or putting on makeup, according to the Integrated Transportation Center. These actions, seemingly simple and innocuous, are viewed as misconduct that can lead to a fatal accident in seconds. These distractions could cause the vehicle to veer off the road in a dangerous manner and could seriously injure the driver and others or result in a fatal accident.

The campaign reiterates the importance of focusing and avoiding distractions while driving. Drivers are morally and socially responsible for their safety and the safety of others. One mistake could change his and his family’s life.
