ABU DHABI, 6th June, 2023 (WAM) — The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, MoIAT, and EDGE Group PJSC have jointly launched Talk 4.0, a new knowledge exchange program to empower industry leaders to adopt Transformative technologies and sustainable practices.
The new initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two parties in August 2022 to extend EDGE’s Learning and Innovation Factory offerings to the UAE’s industrial ecosystem and support the establishment of an Industry 4.0 Support Center.
Talk 4.0 is the latest in a series of initiatives aimed at encouraging and accelerating digital transformation, in line with MoIAT’s Technology Transformation Program (TTP), led by Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Arabiya, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. His Highness Le Maktoum launched 2022 in October. The move also supports the UAE’s strategic initiative to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, given the key role of technology in decarbonizing industry.
Talk 4.0 brings together industry leaders to share knowledge and best practices in Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) solutions through informative talks, workshops, seminars and other learning events.
The first meeting of the Talk 4.0 series took place at the factory. The edition features keynote speakers from global industry organisations, including Nouman Qaiser, Unilever SC Digital Transformation Manager, who discusses lessons learned from his entrepreneurial journey to become a 4IR lighthouse. Dr. Omer Dawelbeit, Principal Solutions Architect, Amazon Web Services, delivered a presentation on artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Following the keynote, attendees experienced a simulation of an EDGE factory “Smart Learning Factory,” showing how to design and build a digital twin, integrate and design connected technologies, and leverage data to increase productivity and efficiency. The trainer also conducted two mini-training sessions focusing on Six Sigma and Agile processes.
In addition, participants have the opportunity to network with other industry professionals, share experiences and best practices, and learn more about technology adoption, sustainable solutions and capacity building.

EDGE Factory combines theory, technology and practice under one roof to drive improvement and inspire innovative approaches to encourage digital transformation and modernize operations. It provides trainees with experiential, gamified and actionable learning aligned with the future needs of the industry.
TTP aims to achieve the goal, mainly to contribute 110 billion dirhams to the national GDP; make the UAE export advanced products worth 15 billion dirhams every year; develop 1,000 technology projects; invest 11 billion dirhams in advanced technology, and To develop Emirati talents through advanced technology projects within ten years.
The plan is based on five main initiatives. These include the Industrial Technology Transformation Index, Industry 4.0 Support Centers, Advanced Technology Incentives, the Factory of the Future Award and the Advanced Technology Testbed Program.
