ABU DHABI, 3rd December, 2023 (WAM) — More than 200,000 visitors of all ages enjoyed the mouth-watering fest of world cuisines as the 6th National Mother’s Day, MOTN Festival concluded on 1st January, Music, innovative art installations, shopping, fun family activities and games, and front row seats to the spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks on Abu Dhabi’s Corniche.
Organized by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi), the ultimate entertainment event in the capital region kicked off on December 9 and runs until the first day of the new year, attracting people from all over the world to the Abu Dhabi Corniche, where Six themed zones – Inspire Space, Thrill Zone, Amusement Park, Food Hub, Live Arena and Shopping District for fun and immersive experiences.
The MOTN festival kicked off with the Miami band, one of the biggest music sensations in the region, giving thousands of fans a rock and roll moment at a sold-out show on the Corniche, followed by their performance on December 18 at An extraordinary closing concert took place on the Live Arena stage. Other major acts for music lovers on the Live Arena stage this year include melodious Iraqi singer Aseel Hameem and Egyptian artist and TV personality Mohamed Hamaki, as well as regional and independent talents such as Abri & The Everlasting, Amjad Shakir and As Per Casper.
Festival-goers had some serious fun and action this year too, with over 15 never-before-seen Instagrammable experiences from around the world (including the UK, Italy, Netherlands and Canada) making their Middle East debut at MOTN Festival.
MOTN Funhouse returns with ANIMA, an incredible light installation that interacts with the public in real time. Families must spend quality time together at the haunted house, basketball center, social media museum Youseum and Office Kovcks art installation Superobject Arch. Teens can test their luck and skills at Thrill Zone’s variety of arcade games, virtual and real-life activities.
This year’s food festival brings culinary experiences from all over the world to satisfy all tastes. More than 36 local and international F&B outlets and food vendors take gourmets on a culinary journey, bringing a symphony of flavors and cultures to excite their taste buds.
The festival hosts chic and popular cafe and street food concepts such as British bakery Peggy Porschen, The Knot Churros, New York-style baked cheesecake from Whipped London, and a juicy old fashioned burger from Patty & Bun this year.
MOTN Festival’s shopping precinct is a curated retail space along the Corniche, featuring 62 local and global brands, including Dukes Cupboard, London’s premier vintage clothing and international streetwear store, which showcases Supreme, Calvin Klein, Nike and International brands like Rolex, as well as Chicago Bulls merchandise and other vintage apparel.
For the first time, the festival will be extended from December 23 to January 1, 2023, giving families the chance to create unforgettable memories during the holiday season.
Visitors to the MOTN festival can also enjoy Abu Dhabi’s New Year’s Eve fireworks display along the Corniche.
