ABU DHABI, 27th December, 2022 (WAM) — The UAE has gifted 51 The Ghaf tree gives its partners on the African continent.
The ghaf tree symbolizes peace, resilience and flexibility, emphasizing the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. They will also create various development opportunities and reflect the UAE’s investment in future generations of the African continent.
The initiative aims to work together to protect natural assets and secure their future use, as ghaf cultivation is part of a critical sustainable development effort in Africa.
In this regard, Minister of State Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan underscored the UAE’s future commitment to working with Africa to achieve prosperity and ensure sustainability.
Candia Camara, Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Diaspora of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, praised the initiative and stressed her country’s desire to strengthen cooperation with the UAE.
Jabulani Clement Mabuza, Minister of Agriculture of the Kingdom of Eswatini, said that the UAE maintains good relations with Eswatini.
The initiatives also underscore the UAE’s desire to strengthen its partnership with the people of the African continent and strengthen their close cultural, scientific and economic ties.
