Emirates News Agency – UAE, Australia hold 9th UAE-Australia Consular Council

ABU DHABI, 12th March, 2023 (WAM) — The UAE and Australia held the 9th UAE-Australia Consular Council.

The meeting was chaired by Rashid Nadar Rahmah, Director of Consular Services, Department of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Alison Duncan, Assistant Secretary, Department of Consular Communications and Policy, Department of Foreign Affairs, Australia.

During the meeting, Rahma emphasized the importance of consular cooperation between the two countries and its role in promoting bilateral coordination. He expressed his appreciation for the positive developments that have taken place over the past year and the efforts of both parties to provide outstanding consular services in both countries.

Duncan praised the UAE’s prominent regional and international status, as well as its key role in various fields.

The two sides also discussed several consular issues of mutual concern and follow-up development plans.

Rahma conveyed the greetings and best wishes of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who praised the deep-rooted relationship between the two countries.

He added that the bilateral relationship between the UAE and Australia has seen significant developments.

Duncan praised the growing bilateral relationship between the two countries, especially in the consular area.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Commonwealth Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, Ministry of Education and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), as well as related entities in Australia.
