Emirati mystery man pays Manchester City £30m to hide sponsorship money

Manchester City have been paid £30million by a mystery man to hide sponsorship payments, according to The Times. That’s taken from a never-before-published UEFA report.

The alleged incidents took place in 2012 and 2013. City will receive payment from one of its main sponsors, Etisalat, the emirates telecommunications services company. However, they received £15m payments from unknown sources on two separate occasions.

The report further claimed that the funding came from the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG). They are owners of Manchester City, which is led by Abu Dhabi vice-chairman Sheikh Mansour Zayed Al Nahyan.

Lawyers for the Premier League club allegedly claimed during the investigation that the payment was made by an individual named Jaber Mohammad. The lawyer further stated (via The Times):

“[Jaber] Personnel providing financial and brokerage services to UAE business entities. “

However, opposing views have been put forward as to why ADUG or Etisalat would need the help of a broker to repay sponsorship money, the report said.

although City Etisalat was cited as the reason for repaying the money in 2015, which UEFA reportedly did not accept.this Super League The team were banned from European competition for two years due to a £30m fee. However, that decision was overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on the grounds that the payment was time-barred.
