Last year, the UAE Pension Agency distributed AED4.87 billion to pensioners and beneficiaries. The General Pensions and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) said 18,957 pensioners, 8,510 beneficiaries and 4,677 Emiratis entitled to end-of-service payments benefited from last year’s payout.
Last year’s expenditure was Dh820,000 higher than the Dh4.05 billion in 2021.
“GPSSA has focused on meeting all its financial obligations by fixed dates to ensure that pensioners and their heirs (known as beneficiaries) receive their dues on time. Over the past two years, GPSSA has developed two services for pensioners and beneficiaries: access to an updated data system and a “maybe involved” certificate issuance service. This helps provide “proactive” online support and reduces the need to visit a service center.
“For example, the number of customers visiting GPSSA’s Customer Happiness Center in 2021 will reach 41,730. By 2022, the number of recorded customers will be significantly reduced by 11,763,” the agency said.
