Etihad and Manchester City make young UAE women’s football dreams come true

Abu Dhabi Airways and Manchester City sponsor Etihad Airways have flown four aspiring young female footballers from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Manchester at the invitation of England women’s football star Chloe Kelly and her team-mates.

The airline flew all of the girls who were enrolled at the Emirates City Football Academy to Manchester, where they met Chloe and team-mates Lauren Hamp and Hayley Russo.

City Soccer Academy coach Georgia Bainbridge said, “When we were told about the surprise and asked to recommend four girls, Madiyah, Meriel, Sura and Zarah immediately came to mind. They showed great skill and potential, but their attitude towards training was outstanding, which made Emirates City All the coaches at the football school are greatly admired.

“We want to keep motivating our female players and promote women’s football in the UAE as much as possible, which has helped tremendously after the Women’s Euros and Chloe Kelly’s winning goal.
