When someone says Comic-Con, some of the first images that come to mind are cosplay artists, vibrant stages, life-size action figures, and like-minded people. So, if that’s what you’re thinking, dear reader, it’s safe to say you’re in love with this celebration of pop culture. As you’ve probably guessed, we’re here to tell you all about the Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC) 2023, taking place in Abu Dhabi this March.

This year’s MEFCC 2023 is scheduled to be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), after relocating its base from Dubai’s World Trade Center showroom. For those who don’t know, Comic Con is a geek’s paradise! Here they can gush about iconic movies, attend workshops, cosplay parades, and even attend meet and greets with A-list celebrities.

Dates and Tickets for MEFCC 2023
Tickets start at AED 135 for a one-day pass and AED 299 for a 3-day pass.Tickets for these events can be purchased at the official mefcc.com website, now on sale. Speaking of dates, this year’s Comic-Con will take place between March 3 and March 5, 2023.
In fact, VIP tickets are also now on sale, starting from AE700, and include celebrity autographs and photo ops, fast track, early access, front row seats, priority queue, and of course exclusive merchandise. Jim Hopper at Comic-Con?
Now that all the key information about tickets and events is out, it’s time to reveal the expected celebrity guest list for this year. From Jim Hopper of Stranger Things to Matt Smith of House of the Dragon, here are some of the people you might meet at MEFCC 2023.
- David Harbor – Also known as Jim Hopper in Netflix’s Stranger Things.
- Jamie Campbell Bower – also from Stranger Things, he plays Vecna. In fact, you may have seen him in other popular characters like Jace in The Holy War, Caius in The Twilight Saga, and a young Grindelwald.
- May Calamwy – She played the role of Layla El-Faouly or Scarlet Scarab in MCU’s Moon Knight.
- Anthony Daniels – He was part of the original Star Wars movies
- Matt Smith – You may already know him as Doctor Who, Damon Targaryen, Prince Philip, or even Lucien from the Morbin time universe.
- Mike and Patty Peraza – Master Disney artists whose credits include The Little Mermaid, A Duck Tale, The Fox and the Hound, The Wizard of Oz, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and Mickey’s A Christmas Carol.
- Zach Aguilar – This well-known voice artist is known for his roles as Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer and Aether in Genshin Impact.
