The Abu Dhabi Court of Family, Civil and Administrative Cases dismissed a lawsuit brought by a father seeking Dh350,000 from a sports center for damages his son suffered as a result of an accident in which his nose was injured while skating at the center .
The complaining father filed a lawsuit as the father of the minor child, demanding that the sports center, in addition to paying for the gymnasium, also compensate his son in the aforementioned amounts for the material and moral damage suffered. Legal costs and attorneys’ fees.
The father said that the sports center provides sports services, including water skiing, and he took his son there. The son had an accident, his nose was broken, his face was disfigured, and his studies were also affected.
The complainant said it was all because of the center’s failure to take precautions, to follow public safety rules and to warn his son that children his age were not suitable for skiing.
The court said there was no evidence on file that the sports center was at fault, and the complainant had not sought proof of the investigation or brought criminal charges against the center at the time of the accident.
The court then dismissed the case and ordered the plaintiff to pay fees and expenses.
