Summer has no mercy for us, so we have to find a way out like Moana. Yes, no matter how hard we try, we will keep getting back in the water! We breathed a sigh of relief when we heard that the world’s largest wave pool would open in Abu Dhabi. This year seems to be the time to ride some waves instead of feelings!

Surf Abu Dhabi, the world’s largest wave pool is coming to the UAE capital

In Abu Dhabi, shortly after this year, we will see the opening of the world’s largest artificial wave-making facility. The world’s longest ride, largest wooden barrel and largest man-made wave pool can all be found at Surf Abu Dhabi. The company has chosen the island of Hudayriat as its location.

It is planned that the facility will soon host major international competitions, open to everyone from amateur surfers to professional surfers. Modon Properties’ island project will cover 51 million square meters, including Surf Abu Dhabi’s announcement.

Abu Dhabi’s largest urban park and the region’s first velodrome are also part of the larger Modon project on Hudayriyat Island, which is scheduled to open in late 2023. Kelly Slater Wave Co., a legendary organization led by professional surfers, collaborated on the design.

This is truly top-notch watersports, capable of hosting major tours, offering the largest bucket, longest ride, longest man-made wave pool in the history of man-surfing. However, the facility provides thrills for novice and aspiring Point Breakers alike, and it’s nearly impossible for you to get injured on the sandbar. It’s not just for experienced surfers.

What else is on board?

After the launch of Everest of Wave Pools in 2023, a new adventure is coming to Abu Dhabi. The region’s first UCI category 1 indoor cycling track will reportedly open at the Abu Dhabi Velodrome. This enables it to offer a variety of track-based championships and host world championships. A 600-meter bike-inclined rooftop track climbing up the façade, revealing stunning 360-degree views of Hudayriyat and the angular skyline of Abu Dhabi City, is one of the noteworthy features and key figures.
