Festive Winter Events and Celebrations Await in the UAE

Celebrations Await As part of the Dubai Shopping Festival, various Christmas markets have opened their doors, bringing festive joy to the city. Notable markets include the Madinat Jumeirah Festive market, the enchanted Winter Garden in Al Habtoor City, and the inaugural Winter District at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. These markets offer unique gifts, family-friendly activities, and joyful celebrations. Let’s explore the highlights of these festive destinations:

Madinat Jumeirah Festive Market

Returning this year, Madinat Jumeirah’s Festive market promises an immersive experience with a 36-foot Christmas tree, red and white gifts, and a diverse range of shopping opportunities. The 1750sqm market offers free entry and features attractions such as a snow fight area, bungee jumping, a North Pole train ride, and a Venetian carousel. Visitors can also decorate gingerbread houses and enjoy an Abra ride with Santa. Open from 3 pm to late on weekdays and 12 pm to late on weekends.

Ski Dubai Winter Experience: Celebrations Await

From December 1 to 25, Ski Dubai transforms into a winter wonderland with resident penguins and a visit from Santa. The Snow Park offers rides, and visitors can enjoy hot chocolate in an Alpine-themed cafe. Don’t miss Santa’s Grotto and the chance to witness him feeding his reindeer. Dubai Ice Rink at Dubai Mall provides a year-round winter escape with enchanting snowfall.

Live Entertainment

December brings a variety of live entertainment options, including the Christmas Cracker showcase at Irish Village, Tchaikovsky’s ‘The Nutcracker’ at the Ballet Theatre, Magic Phil’s ‘Cirque du Silly’ at Theatre by QE2, and Slava’s ‘SNOW SHOW’ at Dubai Opera. Expo City Dubai

Reopening from December 8, 2023, to January 7, 2024, Expo City Dubai promises a grand celebration. The Mobility District will transform into a charming winter paradise with Christmas markets, pine trees, a zip-line, an ice-themed climbing wall, carnival games, and a letter-to-Santa station. Festivities include meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoying homemade gifts, singing Christmas songs, and exploring a snow globe.

Festive Family Tour at Burj Al Arab

Experience a festive family tour at the iconic Burj Al Arab. After a 60-90 minute tour of the luxurious hotel, indulge in festive feasts, visit Santa’s Grotto, receive gift packages, and enjoy the breathtaking outdoor UMA Lounge. This exclusive opportunity combines luxury with holiday spirit for an unforgettable experience.

Winter Garden at Al Habtoor City

Running until January 31, 2024, the Winter Garden at Al Habtoor City welcomes pets and offers a cheerful atmosphere with food kiosks, kid-friendly activities, and live entertainment. LabLicious provides classes for creating soap, perfume, and candles. Adorned with a Christmas tree, buntings, and vibrant lights, the Winter Garden features a live band performance, a Christmas chorus, and a visit from Santa.

Winter Wonderland at Jumeirah Emirates Towers: Celebrations Await

Designed by the M2L team, Jumeirah Emirates Towers hosts a winter area with an advent calendar, snowmen, and a Christmas tree. The event includes Christmas lights, horse rides, carousels, snow slides, and festive food trucks. Entry to this winter wonderland is free.

Dog-Friendly Christmas Celebration

On December 16, 2023, Jumeirah Golf Estates Golf & Country Club hosts a dog-friendly Christmas celebration. The event includes a Christmas market with dog-friendly gifts, live music, and a complimentary group training session with licensed animal behaviorist Olivier Zoppi. Santa’s Grotto ensures a delightful Christmas experience. Entry to the event is free.
